Pomfret Center, CT (February 2019) — Weiss, Hale & Zahansky Strategic Wealth Advisors Team Grows to Help Support Clients' Goals
The Weiss, Hale & Zahansky Strategic Wealth Advisors team recently welcomed two new members to their team, Kelly Graves and Beckie Lewis. Kelly (pictured left), from Woodstock, joins Weiss, Hale & Zahansky after 17 years as a paralegal, bringing a broad knowledge base in matters such as bankruptcy law and litigation in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, civil litigation in the U.S. District Court, U.S. District Court of Appeals, and the Massachusetts State Courts, as well as insurance defense and loan modifications. She is a graduate of Becker College where she studied business administration. Kelly will be working in the firm’s Client Operations & Service department, helping to ensure timely and dedicated service on new accounts, transactions, and investment portfolio account management.
Beckie (pictured right), from Pomfret, comes to the firm with more than 20 years of experience in client support, including positions with American Airlines, American Express Travel, and Electric Boat. She also holds a B.S. from the University of Massachusetts. As the Administration & Client Services Associate, Beckie will be managing daily office operations, working to ensure every client’s experience is at the highest level.

Heather O’Rourke Appointed to Vice President of TEEG’s Board

Heather O’Rourke, Lead, Client Financial Planning Services at Weiss, Hale & Zahansky Strategic Wealth Advisors, has been chosen to serve as Vice President of Thompson Ecumenical Empowerment Group (TEEG’s) Board of Directors. Heather remarked, “Serving at TEEG has been humbling, I have always been aligned to their mission and it is wonderful to continue helping those in need within the community in a new role.”

Heather has been with the wealth management firm for 18 years. She was formerly head of operations and now leads the financial planning team to help client’s Plan Well. Invest Well. Live Well.™ Her commitment to clients and the community is evidenced by her continued, dedicated volunteer work with TEEG as well as The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp for families and their children facing serious illness, and in helping to rescue dogs in need at Dog Orphans Society in Douglas, Massachusetts.
Jim Zahansky Attends Wall Street Council
New York, NY (October, 2018) — Jim Zahansky, Principal and Managing Partner at Weiss, Hale & Zahansky Strategic Wealth Advisors, was in attendance at Bryant University’s annual Wall Street Council reception this October, engaging with leaders from the wealth management industry and connecting with students aspiring to work in financial services. Since his appointment to Bryant’s Wall Street Council in 2017, Jim Zahansky has been an active member in this powerful network of alumni, parents and friends, sharing ideas and connections in the financial services industry.

Shandy Chen Promoted to Investment Portfolio Analytics Manager
Pomfret Center, CT (October 2018) — Shandy Chen recently was appointed to the newly created position of Manager, Portfolio Analytics & Operations. Shandy joined Weiss, Hale & Zahansky Strategic Wealth Advisors team in June 2017 as the lead of client operations and will continue to manage the operations team, but in a more strategic role.
In his time with the company, Shandy has passed finance industry FINRA Series 7 and 66 exams. He has showed an exceptional ability to provide the best experience for clients. As Manager, Portfolio Analytics & Operations, Shandy will focus on investment-oriented portfolio analytical elements. In particular, he will be tasked with measuring investment performance, conducting investment research, and bringing outcomes from our quarterly Investment Committee to ensure our clients continue to “Invest Well.”

Shandy Chen Passes Financial Exams
Pomfret Center, CT (January 2018) — Shandy Chen recently passed the Financial Industry Regulatory (FINRA) Series 7 and 66 exams making him a licensed staff member at Weiss & Hale Financial. Shandy hails from Willington, CT and leads client operations for Weiss, Hale & Zahansky Strategic Wealth Advisors where he joined in June of last year after graduating with a B.A. in Economics from Hamilton College.
Both the Series 7 and 66 exams require extensive preparation and test an individual’s knowledge on a wide range of financial topics including investment vehicles, laws, regulations, as well as economic indicators.
